Project Description & Purpose |
Board of Directors The Southeast Arkansas Regional Intermodal Authority welcomes you to its website. In cooperation with the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department and the Federal Highway Administration, the Southeast Arkansas Regional Intermodal Authority is proposing to establish a regional intermodal facility approximately 2 miles east of Wilmar, Arkansas, south of U.S. 278. The proposed project would encompass approx. 413 acres of undeveloped and forested property that would be of sufficient size to accommodate an Intermodal Container Transfer Facility (ICTF) and an adjacent industrial park. This facility would serve as a complex where cargo could be transferred from one mode of transportation to another (i.e. railroad car to truck or truck to railroad car). The adjacent industrial park would serve as support warehousing, manufacturing, dry bulk handling, and consumer retail for the ICTF. To learn more about this project, click on the headings above.
