Board of Directors July 18, 2001 Presentation by John Vickerman- TranSystemsOn July 18, 2001, Mr. M. John Vickerman, a Principal at TransSystems Corporation, and a leader in the intermodal planning and strategy development spoke to a group at the University of Arkansas on the prospects for the development of a Regional Intermodal Facility (RIF) in Southeast Arkansas. Mr. Vickerman focused on the key drivers associated with intermodal yard development, including cargo volume, proximity to major ports of call, transportation corridors to major consumption zones, and inclusion of Foreign Trade Zone legislation. Mr. Vickerman stated significant long-term strategic planning will be required in order to capitalize on international cargo trends. These trends are identified in the following Powerpoint presentation. The presentation closes with a glimpse at the portion of cargo that could potentially be captured by a RIF located within Southeast Arkansas, and presents the underlying drivers associated with its development.
